Frequently asked questions
What is the best time for 3D ultrasounds?
Excellent pictures may be taken at any time but for best results between the 23 and 30 weeks.
Can you determine the gender of the baby?
The gender of your baby can be determined at 14 weeks or later. Depending on the cooperation of your baby, we are able to capture your babys' gender.
Is the visit covered by insurance?
This is a Non-diagnostic Ultrasound service, commonly not covered by insurance. Since this is an elective out-of-pocket expense, we accept cash, credit cards, and paypal.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, please reserve your spot in advance. Same day appointments may be available!
Who can attend my visit with me?
Anyone you wish may attend the visit. We encourage you to bring your love ones.
Is the Ultrasound Safe?
Ultrasound has over thirty years worth of extensive studies to prove it is perfectly safe. It is simply sound waves that bounce back to render the image.
What should I do to prepare for my visit?
Drink plenty of water the day of your ultrasound appointment. It's a good idea to have something high in sugar (we recommend orange juice) to help with the movement of the baby if they are sleepy(unless you are told not to by your physician). It is important to have a full bladder at your Gender Determination appointment.
Will my doctor be contacted about my visit?
We don’t not contact your doctor prior to the scan since this is an elective procedure. We do require however that you currently are under prenatal care. Ultra-sonographers do not make a diagnosis in general but are mandated to report any found issues.
How long is the 3D/4D ultrasound session?
Depending on the ultrasound package that you select, your session will last between 15 and 30 minutes. However, plan on spending up to an hour at our studio so that we can send you home with memories to last a life time. It is best to arrive a few minutes early to fill out our paperwork.
What is the difference between 3D ultrasound and 4D ultrasound?
3D is a still image while 4D adds the dimension of motion so it looks like a video.
What happens if I arrive late?
If you are more than 15 minutes late we may need to shorten your appointment time or reschedule your appointment. If we are required to reschedule then full payment is required prior to the appointment. Thank you for your understanding.
What is the difference between 3D and 4D and HDLive technology?
3D is a still image and 4D is capturing the baby’s movement. HD LIVE technology has a new rendering software that allows a more realistic view of the fetus by changing the way the ultrasound renders the 4D image.
